DSK Benelli has confirmed that it will be launching the TNT 25 motorcycle in India on December 18, 2015. The TNT 25 will be the most affordable two-wheeler on offer from DSK Benelli. Previously, it was was promised that two more Benelli products will be launched in India during 2015.
The TNT 25 was revealed at DSK Benelli's India premiere at 2015 India Bike Week. DSK Benelli had also showcased the Trek Amazonas which is also supposed to launch in India soon. Surprisingly, only the TNT 25 motorcycle seems to be launching during 2015.
Powering DSK Benelli's TNT 25 will be a 249.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine is tuned to produce 24.15bhp and 21Nm of peak torque. DSK Benelli has mated the engine with 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is expected to have a top speed of 129 km/h.
The TNT 25 is most likely to receive Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) from DSK-Benelli. The ABS safety feature will be optional at this point and customers can choose if they wish to have it or not. DSK-Benelli is most likely to source the ABS component from a Chinese manufacturer.
Currently, DSK Benelli offers the TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600 GT, TNT 899, and TNT R motorcycles. The TNT 25 will be the most affordable product in their portfolio and is expected to be offered with a price tag of Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 1.7 lakh ex-showroom.
In the Indian market, DSK Benelli TNT 25 will have tough competition. The naked motorcycle will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 200, Honda CBR250R, and Hero MotoCorp Karizma. Hyosung is soon to launch its GD250N and TVS Motor will be launching its Apache 200, which will join the party soon.
