DSK-Benelli India Launch Pushed Back To March, 2015
Italian superbike manufacturer, Benelli had announced its partnership with DSK-Motowheels in October, 2014. The duo will locally assemble bikes in India, thus providing more competitive pricing in the superbike categories.
DSK-Benelli had showcased its products, however, there were no launches. They had previously planned to launch their superbikes in India by January, 2015. It seems now that the Italian motorcycle manufacturer has pushed launching its products back to March, 2015.
Benelli will launch five products initially, which include TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600 GT, TNT 899 and TNT 1130 models. Their product range is a mix of in-line fours, in-line triples and twin-cylinder engines. These models will complete with established competitors like KTM, Honda, Triumph and Kawasaki.
The Italian manufacturer has promised to bring most of its products to India through the Completely Knocked Down(CKD) route. DSK-Benelli plan to price their range of motorcycles from INR 3,50,000 to 14,00,000 (on-road). A few of their models could be offered in India as Completely Built Units (CBUs) as well.
There are various factors that have delayed the launch of Benelli products in India. One of the delays could be them being partners at India Bike Week 2015. The Italian superbike manufacturer plans to showcase its products at the event. By doing so they will get more publicity and increase their reach to motorcycle enthusiasts.
DSk-Motowheels had earlier this year announced that Motul would be the official lubricant supplier for Benelli motorcycles. The oil company is also known as ‘The Specialist' among synthetic lubricants. It has a rich history of more than 160 years of providing quality products.
