CS Santosh Dakar Rally 2015 : Stage 7 Update
CS Santosh is proving to be very strong after stage 7 of the Dakar Rally 2015. The 31-year old rider from Bangalore finished stage 7 in the 65th position and stands in the 49th position overall.
This stage was full of events. Joan Barreda, the current race leader crashed during the seventh stage and broke his motorcycle handlebar in to two and still managed the remaining 120 kilometres riding the Honda with his right hand!
This is the first marathon stage of the race, which means riders will have no outside assistance from their teams. The riders will have to sleep and prepare their own motorcycles, which could put Barreda in trouble because of the broken handlebar.
Stage 7 of the Dakar Rally was won by Paolo Goncalves on the Honda, followed by the four time Dakar champion Marc Coma in second, followed by Matthias Walkner in third, aboard the KTM.
The Overall rankings is still led by the Spaniard riding the Honda, Joan Barreda, followed by Marc Coma and Paolo Goncalves in third.
The overall top 10 rankings see 6 KTMs, three Hondas and one Sherco TVS.
Stage 8 of Dakar Rally is 781 kilometres long and has a lot more events to offer. Stay tuned for more updates about Dakar Rally 2015.
