Bajaj-KTM Commence Export Of RC250 & Duke 250
KTM had recently showcased its quarter-litre offerings, however, it was soon clarified that they would not be offered in India. They plan to introduce this motorcycle in new and developing markets.
The RC250 and Duke 250 will be launched in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Turkey, Thailand and many more Asian markets. In most of these countries quarter-litre bikes are highly preferred.
Now the Austrian manufacturer has begun manufacture and has also exported its first batch of motorcycles out of India for these new markets. KTM had showcased both these bikes at Tokyo Motor Show a few months back.
Both KTM motorcycles will be powered by a common engine:
- Engine: 248.8cc single cylinder, liquid cooled
- Horsepower: 30.85
- Torque: 24Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed
The KTM twins are expected to compete head on with Honda and Kawasaki, who provide single cylinder motorcycles in these countries. Pricing of KTM will be aggressive and will entice several buyers.
