Bajaj Auto is the largest seller and manufacturer of two-wheelers in India. They have a wide variety of products on offer and are constantly improving their existing lineup. The Indian manufacturer offers a single cruiser option in the form of their Avenger.
For 2015, Bajaj has decided to give its Avenger a much needed update. It is expected to share several parts with existing models from the manufacturer. The motorcycle will get several new parts and components to bring it up to modern standards.
It is most likely that Bajaj engineers will pull out the 220cc engine from the motorcycle. They will instead go forward with their more frugal and trustworthy engine that does duty in its 200NS model. In terms of aesthetics the 2015 Avenger will more or less look similar to the current generation cruiser.
The engine provided in Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is a 199cc single cylinder mill. It produces 23 bhp, along with 18 Nm of peak torque output. This engine has been mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Bajaj still use a carburettor, however, the engine gets three spark plugs to improve fuel efficiency.
2015 Avenger will also sport a 6-speed gearbox and the engine will provide more performance than the current powerhouse. Bajaj Auto is also expected to provide a rear disc brake for better braking. This updated cruiser is expected to be launched by mid-2015, with an estimated price tag of INR 85,000 ex-showroom.
The Indian manufacturer has promised to launch six new motorcycles in India. One of the most anticipated motorcycles has to be their 400 SS. It is their first fully faired motorcycle and it has been showcased in several countries out of India. Also doing tests in India is an adventure motorcycle by Bajaj.
