Bajaj Auto To Introduce Second Manufacturing Facility In Chakan Pune
Bajaj Auto currently manufacturers its products in Chakan, Pune. It has now been confirmed that they will soon inaugurate a second facility. This new facility will be operational by early 2016.
Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto has announced that a second facility will be up and running soon. This new manufacturing will take care of increase in demand, which the manufacturer is expecting.
Their goal is to achieve 20 percent growth in terms of sale in this fiscal year. This will be achieved by their new products. Rajiv Bajaj cited that the current facility will not be adequate to cope with increase in demand.
They have currently launched the Pulsar RS200, AS200 and AS150 in India. Bajaj Auto plans to widen its Pulsar range and more products are expected to launch during 2015.
The Indian manufacturer also plans to commence export of its quadricycle, the RE60. In India, it cannot be sold currently due to legal complications that have been incurred.
The combination of all these situations is expected to have massive growth in sales. A new production facility will be needed to cope with growing national as well as international demands.
The second manufacturing unit in Chakan, Pune is expected to have initial capacity of 50,000 units per month. This will compliment their existing facility and will help achieve their targets sooner.
