Bajaj Auto Could Discontinue Pulsar 200NS & Launch 180NS Model
Bajaj Auto recently launched two new products for Indian market the Pulsar RS200 and Pulsar AS200. The former is their very first fully-faired motorcycle, while the second is their first adventure bike.
Pulsar 200NS was their first model which introduced their new design and engine philosophy. Now Bajaj Auto plans on discontinuing this model and will replace it with Pulsar 180NS.
Major reasoning for this change seems to be the fact that Indian manufacturer wants people to buy the AS200. Both 200NS and AS200 share a common engine and several other components.
Currently the Indian manufacturer has halted manufacture of NS200 at its Chakan facility in Pune. This is primarily done to cater to the needs and demands of Pulsar RS200 and AS200.
Here are the technical specifications of AS200 & 200NS:
- Engine: 199.5 cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled
- Horsepower: 23.19
- Torque: 18.3 Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed
We will be providing more details regarding the discontinuation of Pulsar 200NS in Indian as well as international markets. We would like your opinion as to what you think of this entire situation?
