2015 MotoGP Aprilia Livery Unveiled By Bautista & Melandri
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Aprilia will be making a full fledged comeback to MotoGP with the Gresini team. They have now decided to unveil their new race livery for 2015 with their new MotoGP riders. Their goal is to develop their motorcycle in 2015 and challenge for the podium in 2016.
The Italian outfit has brought their WSBK rider to MotoGP. Marco Melandri is not a new face in MotoGP, however, the Italian makes his return after a long gap. He was a runner-up in the 2005 MotoGP championship. He has also won the 250cc championship onboard an Aprilia.
Their second rider is Alvaro Bautista, who was already in Gresini Racing team. The Spaniard has been a regular face in MotoGP for the past five years and has been a hard worker. He too is a World Champion in the 250cc category in 2006 onboard Aprilia machinery.
The 2015 MotoGP Aprilia machinery has been christened as ‘RS-GP' and will be developed through the season by Melandri and Bautista. They will introduce an all-new prototype machine in 2016 and will enter as a full fledged factory team as well.
Aprilia has opted for a simple yet striking livery for their machines. The motorcycle adorns a silver with black and red highlights. This livery is similar to their WSBK motorcycle and it will be easy for Aprilia fans to spot their motorbike and rider out of the packed MotoGP lineup.
Alvaro Bautista, expressed, "I like this new challenge. It gives me new stimulation and great motivation. We are well aware that we have a lot of work to do and we are also aware that this will be a season marked by development, so we aren't setting any goals for ourselves except to improve race by race, working hard."
Marco Melandri, commented, "Following Aprilia in its ambitious return to MotoGP is a brave choice, especially after the decision to move the plans up. I am very motivated. I am confident and I know what this racing department is capable of, although that doesn't change the difficulties that we will inevitably have to face."
