Yamaha Sell 47,690 Vehicles In May 2014

Yamaha Motor India has recently launched their quarter-litre bike in Indonesia and has created a significant buzz about themselves. The 250cc motorcycle is soon to come to India and is set to 'Rev Your Ego'. In India the Japanese manufacturer's popular offerings are the Ray, Ray-Z, Alpha, FZ, FZ-S, Fazer and the YZF-R15.

The Japanese automobile manufacturer has recorded an increase of 40.14% in domestic sales. This is achieved when compared to the previous years, similar month sales report. Yamaha managed selling an impressive 47,680 vehicles in May, 2014. In the same month in the previous year they managed to sell a decent 34,021 vehicles.

Yamaha Motor India also exported 19,440 two wheelers in May, 2014. The Japanese manufacturer could only manage a exporting 15,356 two wheelers in the month of May, 2013. This is a significant growth of 26.6 percent in an economy that was said to be stagnant.

Roy Kurian, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd Vice President, Sales and Marketing, expressed that he was happy and admitted it was a great month for them. He claimed the growth of its sales due to the excellent product range as well as customer-related activities.

The Alpha scooter launched by Yamaha at the 2014 Auto Expo which, was held in New Delhi. It is the scooter that has rivalled the segment leader Honda Activa and has been a key factor in the Japanese manufacturers success.

The team at Yamaha believe they can achieve a total sales figure of 1,00,000 Ray as well as Ray-Z scooters along with 2,00,000 Alpha scooter by the end of 2014. If the Japanese manufacturer achieves this feat they will be looking at a 50 percent increase in total sales.

They also believe they can improve the sales of their scooters, provided the government improve policies. Yamaha also expresses they will try and improve the buying experience for customers. We will have to wait and see if Yamaha can fulfill their own prediction.
