Yamaha R25 Coming To India Not Before 2015
Yamaha has a stellar product in their 250cc offering, the R25. It has been launched in Indonesia and is highly anticipated in other markets. The Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that it will export its quarter-litre bike from Indonesia itself.
Yamaha Indonesia opened an online booking system for their R25 and they received 2,800 motorcycle bookings in a single day. Due to high demand in the local market, Yamaha has announced that they will have to delay the R25 in other markets by at least a year.
The Japanese two-wheeler giant has opted that it would first solve the demand in the local market. They will only then go ahead with exports of its quarter-litre motorcycle. The R25 is expected to be offered in several emerging markets, Europe and Japan. The facility in Indonesia currently can only manufacture 2,000 vehicles in a month.

Yamaha believes they can sell over 12,000 R25 motorcycles in its maiden year itself. It is a Herculean task however, witnessing the huge demand and popularity of Yamaha around the world and MotoGP Star Valentino Rossi approving of the R25. It is a recipe for success that the Japanese manufacturer has dished out.
The R25 by Yamaha has a 249cc liquid cooled, inline two engine. It will have four valves per cylinder with DOHC(Direct OverHead Camshafts). The engine is capable of producing 22.6 Nm of torque along with a power output of 36 PS. It will sport fuel injection and the engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
