Yamaha Electric Bikes To Be Available 2016
Yamaha had earlier showcased their concept electric motorcycles. Yamaha had earlier showcased their concept electric motorcycles the PED1 and PES1. They were showcased in 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. The bike has a very futuristic design and is a good way to showcase the Japanese automobile manufacturers design for the coming years.
Yamaha PES1 and PED1 utilised swappable battery packs, this is the main plus point as you could swap the batteries for an extended range.
The PES1 concept has been going through rigorous testing by the Yamaha engineers. The production model will be ready in the coming two years. The Japanese manufacturer has recently launched their three wheel bike. The vehicle borrowed many design elements from the concept vehicles.
The PED1 is their offering for a more evolved market. It will compete against KTM Freeride E, which will take on the off-road challenge.
This segment of off-road and other motorcycle competitions are the best place to develop the bike in real life conditions. Yamaha certainly knows this fact and will well utilise the opportunity to their advantage.
Yamaha hasn't revealed prices yet which, will be a major factor in the success of their bikes. We expect the Japanese company to offer their electric bikes at an attractive price. As the automobile manufacturer is sourcing parts from other companies.
The price could be further lowered owing to the small battery that is used to power their vehicles. It is a great step taken by Yamaha in conserving the future.
