Yamaha India Does Well In 2013
Yamaha Motor India reported a 36.88% increase in two-wheeler sales. It sold 64.997 units this December 2013 compared to 47,483 units, which it sold last December.
The Japanese bike manufacturer recorded domestic sales of 39,777, a 58.32% growth compared to 25,123 units that it sold last December. The company exported and sold 25,220 units in December 2013, against 22,360 units in December 2012 a 12.79% increment in sales.
Yamaha says it sold 6,51,487 units this year, compared to 4,86,810 units in 2012. Recording a 33.82% increase in sold units. "Despite industry travails, 2013 was an excellent year for us and we are certainly pleased with our performance this year." said Roy Kurian, Vice President, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd.
Kurian believes, the result achieved is due to the company's strong bike line-up, as well as customers confidence in the brand. Along with an improving scooter line-up.
Roy Kurian also added, "We're looking at further expanding our dealership network across India as well as enhance our customer care services. The future definitely seems exciting and we look forward to improving our performance in 2014 as well".
