Top 10 Highest Paid MotoGP Riders Of 2014
MotoGP 2014 season has been dominated by one individual single handedly, however, today we are not going to be praising him. We are going to reveal the top 10 highest paid MotoGP racers in the 2014 paddock. The list is full of surprises and there are some names you may least expect, however, their talent and skill is what manufacturers pay for.
There are various two wheeler motorsport events, however, MotoGP is based on pure prototype machines and technology. The Tech used here is what eventually goes into all street vehicles. Most manufacturers sign riders into the team to improve their technology, so experience is a vital factor.
Below if the top ten highest paid riders in MotoGP, starting in reverse order. We will go from number ten to the finale and the highest paid superstar in MotoGP.

Colin Edwards With Yamaha NGM Forward Racing
In at number ten is American rider Colin Edward a.k.a. Texas Tornado. He is the oldest rider in the paddock and is set to leave the sport at the end of 2014 championship. The Texas Tornado was once Valentino Rossi's teammate, he currently rides for Yamaha NGM Forward Racing outfit in the open class. He earns INR 5,67,91,475 every year.
Andrea Dovizioso With Factory Ducati Team
The Italian rider Andrea Dovizioso who currently rides Factory Ducati, comes in at number nine. He has ridden for Repsol Honda before and Tech3 Yamaha too, his contract will end this year and his future is uncertain. The Italian outfit will most likely retain him for his exceptional performance with the package. 'Dovi' makes roughly INR 5,97,80,500 each year for himself.
Cal Crutchlow With Factory Ducati Team
British rider Cal Crutchlow is the latest victim of Ducati's volatile machine. The bike has not been the easiest transition for Cal as he came from Tech3 Yamaha. He is rumoured to leave the Italian outfit and join 2015 latest entrant Suzuki's Factory Team. The Britisher makes roughly INR 7,17,50,479 per year, we believe he should be paid more for riding a Ducati itself.
Alvaro Bautista With GO&FUN Honda Gresini
In seventh position is former Suzuki rider Alvaro Bautista, who currently rides for GO&FUN Honda Gresini team. He has has a bag of mix fortune this year by qualifying high on the grid and crashing out of most of them. His seat with Honda is in question for next year, however, he is being paid INR 8,37,90,242 for this year by Honda's satellite team.
Stefan Bradl With LCR Honda MotoGP
German rider and so far the best satellite team rider for Honda Stefan Bradl. Honda is happy with Bradl, however, he is rumoured to leave and join the Moto2 championship for a year, until better options open up in MotoGP. LCR Honda MotoGP outfit will pay Bradl INR 10,16,87,187 for the year 2014.
Nicky Hayden With Drive M7 Aspar
Former MotoGP winner Nicky Hayden or better known as the 'Kentucky Kid', won with Repsol Honda. He later made an astonishing move to factory Ducati team and now rides for Honda with their Production Racer bike for Drive M7 Aspar. The lack of performance from the bike and a wrist injury has not benefitted the American, who will earn INR 23,91,68,265 for 2014 no matter how he performs.
Marc Marquez With Repsol Honda
Current MotoGP World Champion as well as the youngest champion of the premier class ever Marc Marquez is not the highest paid racer yet. We believe he soon will be though, he currently makes INR 32,53,99,000. This being his second year and looks on his way to collecting his second Championship, Repsol Honda will surely want him, however, he has no contract for the 2015 season yet.
Dani Pedrosa With Repsol Honda
Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa began his MotoGP career with Repsol Honda and plans to end it with the same. He recently signed his future with Repsol Honda for a further two years. Dani was rumoured being asked to ride for Suzuki, however, they could not afford paying him. Repsol Honda will pay the Spanish rider INR 32,53,99,000 for 2014, he is expected to receive more for 2015.
Jorge Lorenzo With Movistar Yamaha
Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo will be without a team for next year and his current form is not helping his cause. He is rumoured to join Aprilia in 2016 and has been asking Yamaha for a single year contract. Yamaha will pay him INR 43,11,53,675 Lorenzo earns a further INR 11,95,84,132 from public appearances and endorsements.
Valentino Rossi With Movistar Yamaha
The highest paid MotoGP start is the Legend himself Valentino Rossi. The Italian rider is the only MotoGp star to be featured in the Forbes list of highest paid athletes. 'The Doctor' recently renewed his contract with Movistar Yamaha for two more years. Yamaha will pay him INR 71,83,18,292 The Doctor earns a further INR 59,79,20,662 by featuring in advertisements and several other activities.
