Suzuki MotoGP Bike To Test At Austin Texas
Suzuki MotoGP team managed by Davide Brivio, confirms their bike will be tested at the Circuit of the Americas. The Japanese bike manufacturer has confirmed, they have never been to the track and a test in Austin is beneficiary, keeping in mind a return in 2015.
Suzuki MotoGP team will be at the first 2014 pre-season testing which will be held in Sepang, Malaysia. The Japanese factory team will not race in this calendar year. The team managed by Brivio, will begin a highly intense test season that will help them in making their official comeback to the GP scene in 2015.
Brivio stated, "We are very motivated, but we know that we are going to Sepang basically to verify how big our gap with our future rivals is."
Brivio accepts the challenge will be tough and the hard work they will have to put in however, Suzuki has a clear intent to move ahead, "I am looking forward to Sepang, because there everyone will have their latest evolution. It will be perfect for comparison," stated Brivio.
Suzuki was rumored to pursue MotoGP's Open Class, however have opted for a full factory prototype status. Rejecting the opportunity to play with 24 liters of fuel and 12 race engines per year and accepting the challenge to use just 20 liters for a race and five engines per season.
Though Suzuki won't be racing this year, the Japanese teams engineer wont be permitted to rest. As the chassis needed loads of improvement from last years test. A need for more grip on tracks with low traction is the priority.
Prior to begin tests in Malaysia, Brivio claimed there could be a possibility to race this year as a wild card entrant. Describing this option, interesting as it would give Suzuki a realistic view of their competition. Brivio stated, "Motegi could be a possibility, Valencia as well."
