Ducati 1199 Panigale S “Senna” Gifted To WRC Champion Sebastien Ogier
Two time WRC Champion, Sebastien Ogier was gifted a limited edition Ducati 1199 Panigale S "Senna" version as a token of cognizance for winning two titles back-to-back.
The motorcycle was offered to Ogier at a handing-over ceremony by the CEO of Ducati, Claudio Domenicali along with Gigi Dall'Igna, the head of Ducati Corse in Borgo Panigale.
Sebastien Ogier, a huge fan of the late Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, was very pleased to receive this motorcycle.
The limited edition "Senna" motorcycle colour was chosen by Senna himself in 1994, when he visited the Ducati factory before his tragic accident that ended his life.
The Senna themed Ducati 1199 S is a motorcycle exclusively made for the Brazilian market, unavailable in other markets. The motorcycle was flown in from Brazil to be handed over to Ogier.
The motorcycle, has number 16 on it, in memory of Senna's first F1 victory with Lotus in the year 1985 in the Portuguese GP.
Ogier said, "For me, Ayrton Senna is the biggest hero in motorsport. He was my idol. My father was a big fan of Senna and, when I was a young boy, he took me to Monte Carlo to see him race. He was the best, he was fast in every car, and he would never give in."
"It would have been great to meet him and get to know him, but in any case, he remains a fine example in motorsport."
