The Doctor Claims Victory At Misano
The "Doctor" Valentino Rossi claimed his first and Yamaha's first MotoGP victory for the year 2014 at Misano. This is Rossis first victory in Italy since 2009.
Hot on pursuit was Rossi's team mate Lorenzo, who took second place. This was the first time that Yamaha has finished 1-2 in MotoGP in four years.
Lorenzo, who was leading the race, soon fell into the third spot behind Rossi and Marquez. The Doctor and Marquez had a battle of their own, repeatedly swapping positions until Marquez lost the front of his Honda, letting both the Movistar Yamaha riders take first and second.
Following Yamaha was Dani Pedrosa who took the third spot on his Honda and was followed by Andrea Dovizioso on his Ducati.

Honda rider Marquez, was still able to squeeze a point for his team after his crash finishing 15th.
The Championship standings at the moment are Marquez standing first with 289 points, followed by Pedrosa with 215 points at second place, Rossi with 214 points in third and followed by his team mate Lorenzo with 177 points.
