KTM 200 & 390 To China Market
The current slowdown in automotive sales has affected Indian two wheeler giant Bajaj too. They now are finding ways to counter their decline in sales.
They now will be exporting the KTM that is made in India to China. KTM is expected to launch their bikes in China in the coming weeks.
China is a huge market for two wheelers just like India. KTM will have to compete with established market leaders Suzuki and Honda.
Bajaj will first offer the KTM 390 Duke in China and they will follow it later with their KTM Duke 200. China will witness the top to down offering of KTM's portfolio.
Bajaj is planning to increase its sales and will export close to 300 vehicles in their first year of exporting bikes to China. Bajaj currently exports around 1 lakh motorbikes in a month.
Bajaj currently owns 47% stakes in KTM and their efforts to offer bikes at an affordable price have been benefiting both manufacturers.
Bajaj current line-up of Pulsar and Discover is not doing well in the domestic market and exporting vehicles to China could prove beneficial to the Indian manufacturer.
KTM will soon be launching their range of fully faired bikes India in the coming months. The RC390 and RC200 will first be offered to Indians and then to the Chinese market.
