KTM 1290 Super Adventure Revealed At 2014 INTERMOT

Austrian two wheeler manufacturer KTM has recently launched its RC range of motorcycles in India. They have been consistently introducing new and interesting products in each and every market of theirs.

Currently the 2014 INTERMOT was held in Cologne, Germany. Many manufacturers brought several prototypes and new models to the automobile extravaganza. KTM also had something new and interesting to show off with their 1290 Super Adventure motorcycle.

The Austrian manufacturer has provided its latest motorcycle with a similar engine that powers its Super Duke. The Super Adventure, however, gets new camshafts, cylinder heads and crankshaft. These modifications make it suitable for adventure riding.

The twin cylinder has been arranged in a 75 degree V configuration and its engine is liquid cooled. KTM's 1301 cc engine produces 160 horsepower, along with 140 Nm of peak torque. The manufacturer provides its motorcycle with Hill Hold Control, Motorcycle Traction Control, Motor Slip Regulation, MSC with C-ABS and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

The manufacturer has provided its Super Adventure with loads of safety equipment. KTM claims this new motorcycle to be the safest till date. It will provide the rider with loads of information, so that they can have an adventure of a lifetime without any hassles.

The 1290 Super Adventure is a luxury touring vehicle and rider comfort and safety is top priority. The windshield is easily adjustable and has been developed by CFD simulation. The seat and grips are heated to provide maximum comfort to its rider.

KTM has also provided its motorcycle with LED cornering lights, which improves visibility, along with safety. The 1290 Super Adventure is fitted with a 30-litre fuel tank, so the bike can go longer distances with fewer fuel halts. The motorcycle weighs only 229 kilograms without liquids.
