Honda Unveil Street Legal RC213V-S MotoGP Prototype At 2014 EICMA
Honda has recently witnessed success in MotoGP by winning the Championship for a consecutive second time with Marc Marquez. They have secured the constructors title for a record 21st time in the premier class, however, overall they won it 63 times.
The 2014 EICMA show is underway in Milan, Paris. Several manufacturers have impressed this year by introducing new and more powerful machines for street use. Kawasaki revealed their H2R, Yamaha showcased their M1 and M1 R, Aprilia also brought their RSV4 RR and RSV4 RF models and Ducati revealed its Scrambler and 1299 panigale.
Japanese manufacturer Honda too came up with a surprise of their own. They have revealed their MotoGP prototype motorcycle as a street legal version. It is a clear insight into future motorcycles from the manufacturer.
Honda has christened the motorcycle as ‘RC213V-S', the S stands for street. Their MotoGP prototype bears the same title sans 'S'. It has been developed with feedback from Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa and several other Honda racers.

It is evident Honda has tried their very best to keep the motorcycle as similar to its MotoGP prototype as they could. The Japanese manufacturer has added headlights, turn indicators, mirrors and license plate holder in the rear to make it street legal.
Honda Racing Corporation have provided its RC213V-S with a 1000cc V4 engine. The street legal machine produces in excess of 200 horsepower. The weight of this motorcycle is negligible owing to several carbon fibre components.
The Japanese manufacturer has provided its RC213V-S with red, blue and white livery. On the sides of this monstrous machine is a red circle similar to that of a Japanese flag. It is meant to be ridden solo and that is the way most riders will prefer.
It sports an all aluminium chassis, along with a similar construction swing arm. The Japanese engineers have not revealed other details of RC213V-S model. Honda will be equipping it with launch control, slide control and several other electronic systems.
Honda's RC213V-S has been revealed at the 2014 EICMA show in Milan, Paris. It will be available in markets from 2015 and will be offered primarily in developed markets. Marc Marquez rode the production model on stage and expressed ‘This bike is made for him specially and it is his road bike'.
The RC213V-S sports a similar exhaust system to MotoGP motorcycle. There is an exhaust below the seat, while the second has been placed to its right hand side. It won't get slick tyres, however, it will get sticky street tyres that will provide adequate grip.
