Honda Two-Wheelers Achieve New High In October 2014 Sales

Japanese automobile giant Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has recorded a new high this October, 2014. They are among the top sellers of two-wheelers in Indian market and are constantly growing.

Honda recently announced the inauguration of its 800th dealership across India, which is a mammoth sized achievement. The Japanese manufacturer is among the fastest two-wheelers to have this many dealerships.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has reported to us a growth of 103 percent this festive season over the previous. Their domestic sales have also risen considerably. During April to October, 2014 the Japanese manufacturer has reported growth of 27 percent.

Y S. Guleria, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, commented, "This was our first festive season as Only Honda. We posted a phenomenal 103% growth over last year. As part of Honda's Utsav strategy, our touch-points were fully armed to meet this season demand backed by an aggressive marketing campaign."

He further added, "Our achieving 5.4 lakhs retails in a single month and selling over 1 lakhs units in a single day is a testimony of customer trust in Honda. There was overwhelming customer demand for both motorcycle and scooters cutting across urban and rural geographies."

Honda India claim that majority of their sales have come from its Dream and Activa series. The Dream series roughly account for 30 percent of total sales during Dhanteras, while the Activa contributed to 45 percent total sales. This festive season Honda sold 1,65,000 two-wheelers compared to 78,500 that it sold last year.
