Honda Motorcycles Festive Sales Figures Create History

With Honda's record sales performance this festive season, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has created history this Dhanteras.

One of the fastest growing two-wheeler companies in India, Honda's two-wheeler retail sales crossed the 100,000 mark on the day of Dhanteras.

Honda motorcycles have had a 110 percent boost in sales to 1.65 lakh units, compared to 78,500 units sold last year.

Almost every dealership nationwide worked overtime on Dhanteras, traditionally a day when the highest number of two-wheelers are bought and delivered.

Due to customer demand for its scooters, most of the dealerships ran out of stock. At the same time the overall Dream series, which include the Dream Yuga, Dream NEO and CD 110 Dream also saw an increase in sales.

Speaking about the achievement in sales, Yadvinder S. Guleria, the Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, "This happens to be HMSI's first festive season as only Honda in India and the results of Dhanteras sales reinforces the trust that customers have in Honda."

"It aptly summarises our corporate campaign Honda is Honda. Our ever highest Dhanteras sales of 1.65 lakh units takes the festive sales momentum even further. We hope to close this festive season with new records and thank the million Indian customers for choosing the Wings of Honda."

Dhanteras is the first day of the five-day Diwali Festival as celebrated in India. The festival, known as "Dhanatrayodashi" or "Dhanvantari Trayodashi". The word Dhan means wealth and Teras means 13th day as per Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha (dark fortnight) in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin.
