It is time now and according to a reliable Honda source, it has been confirmed that the Activa 125 will be available to book from April onwards.
Suzuki and Mahindra were the only two manufacturers that had 125cc scooters on option. Now with Honda joining the field, it could spell disaster for the other manufacturers.
We all know customers are loyal to the Honda brand. Since there will be a powerful scooter from the Japanese manufacturer many buyers will opt for Honda over other scooter manufacturers.
The Honda 125 will sport a 125cc single cylinder engine, which will produce 8.6 BHP and 10.12 Nm of torque.
It will get a host of new features like a 190mm front disc option with combi-brake system and telescopic front forks. Tyres provided with the scooter will be 90/90/12 for the front end with 90/90/10 for rear end.
The Activa 125 will get all new 5-spoke alloy wheels. Its instrument cluster will be a mixture of digital as well as analogue.
Honda could have named their new scooter differently, however they choose 'Activa' as it will rekindle the customer's perception.
The new Activa 125 isn't different in terms of styling from normal Activa's. It now looks more masculine compared to the Activa i.
Activa 125 will compete with the likes of Mahindra Duro, Suzuki's Swish and Vespa LX. It will be great to see how the competition reacts to Honda.
