Hero MotoCorp To Launch Leap Hybrid Scooter In 2015

Hero MotoCorp is growing by leaps and bounds, and they have set their sights on international markets while dominating the domestic market. They recently announced they would set a manufacturing facility in Brazil. They will also be venturing into hybrid scooters, which it had showcased as a concept during the 2012 Auto Expo in India.

Now India's largest selling and manufacturing two wheeler company will be launching its first hybrid scooter in India by early 2015. They have christened it the 'Leap' and it surely is a big step forward for the Indian-based manufacturer. The plan is to launch the Leap hybrid in developed markets like Europe and United States of America and then bring it to India.

Hero MotoCorp will provide the Leap hybrid scooter with a 124cc petrol powered engine and will produce 11 horsepower. Range of the hybrid scooter will be extended owing to an electric motor. It will sport a Li-ion battery pack, where the power will be stored and discharged as needed. The Indian automobile giant claims the hybrid scooter will achieve a top speed in excess of 100 km/h.

The Indian manufacturer is planning to assemble its first hybrid scooter the Leap, at its facility in Gurgaon. Hero MotoCorp have no wild sales target for its hybrid scooter. They are expecting to sell 6,000 Leap's in its maiden year globally. The manufacturing facility can increase production if there is an increase in demand.

Hero MotoCorp had revealed the Dare scooter at the 2014 Auto Expo held in New Delhi. The Dare is slated for a launch in August, 2014. So expect new products before the Leap will be offered in India by 2015. The Indian automobile giant has revealed amazing products at the Auto Expo and are going forward by introducing the products.

The Leap Hybrid Scooter is expected to be marketed differently in developed and developing markets. Hero MotoCorp will highlight the superior range and great fuel efficiency in developing markets. While in developed markets it will be promoted as an environment concerned product for short city commutes.
