The Great Online Shopping Festival of 2014 has come to an end. Several companies offered various offers and discounts on their products. This show was put up by popular search engine Google. There were offers on gadgets, electronics, clothing, furniture, holidays, cars as well as motorcycles.
Hero MotoCorp was also a part of this festival and were selling their motorcycles online. India's largest manufacturer and seller of two-wheelers took a chance to see how online sale of their motorcycles would go about.
It was no surprise that all went well and the manufacturer has now reported sales of 700 of their motorcycles online. This feat was achieved within a matter of 72 hours through Snapdeal.
Snapdeal is the only online shopping site that officially sells brand new vehicles. They currently sell Mahindra & Mahindra two-wheelers as well as four wheelers on their site. Now Hero MotoCorp has also joined the online site.
The Great Online Sale of 2014 began on 10th of December. Hero MotoCorp introduced their Pleasure, Splendor, Passion, Glamour, Ignitor, Hunk and Xtreme two-wheelers on Snapdeal. They launched their online sale of vehicles at the same price of regular dealerships.
It is great to see more and more manufacturers choosing new avenues to sell their products. Snapdeal is the only online sellers to offer motorcycles and automobiles. This trend is soon catching up and the sale of 700 Hero MotoCorp motorcycles within 72 hours is a positive message.
It took a while for Hero MotoCorp to gain momentum during the GOSF 2014. During the initial stages sales were slow, however, the Indian manufacturer secured 500 bookings in a matter of eight hours on 12th of December, 2014.
