Hero MotoCorp Reveals Five New Models, Diesel Concept, HX250R Included
Hero MotoCorp is in a full on assault mode as it revealed five new models ahead of the Auto Expo 2014. These are not just refreshed model we are talking about, but brand new models of a wide variety including a concept model.
There is the Hero Extreme Sports motorcycle, ‘Dash' scooter, HX250R quarter lighter sports bike, Leap electric scooter and the most radical of all, RNT Concept which has a diesel engine.
What's more, Pawan Munjal, MD and CEO of Hero MotoCorp told during the launch event in Delhi that they have more new models to reveal at the Auto Expo.

Hero Xtreme Sports
The facelifted Hero Xtreme Sports is powered by the 150 cc engine rated at 15.2 HP and 12.8 Nm of torque. Besides the facelifted design the new Xtreme Sports comes with headlamp with LED position lights as a notable feature.
Hero Dash
A 110 cc scooter that falls into the category of Honda Activa, TVS Wego/Jupiter, the Hero Dash is powered by a 111 cc engine rated at 8.5 HP 9.4 Nm of torque. The 110 kg scooter has a generous 6 liter fuel tank and comes with 12 inch front wheels like the Wego. Notable features include external fuel filler lid, power socket for charging and under seat storage light.
Hero Leap
The
Leap
concept
from
the
2012
Auto
Expo
is
finally
a
production
model.
The
Leap
gets
its
power
from
a
lithium-ion
battery
which
runs
an
electric-traction
motor.
There's
also
electricity
generator
that's
run
by
a
new
124
cc
engine
producing
11
bhp.
This
hybrid
scooter
has
a
top
speed
of
100
km/h
with
the
range
extender.
Leap
has
a
small
3
liter
fuel
tank,
but
Hero
has
not
yet
mentioned
the
range.
Hero HX250R
Developed in association with their overseas partners Eric Buell Racing, AVL and Engines Engineering, the quarter liter class Hero HX250R is powered by a 249 cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine that is connected to a six-speed transmission.
The engine generates a surprising 31PS power and weighs just 139 kg. 0-60 km/h is achieved in a claimed sub-3 seconds. Hero HX250R offers combined braking with optional ABS and features under seat exhaust and rear monoshock. The tank can hold 12.9 litres of fuel.
Hero RNT Concept
Lastly, Hero RNT is a 150cc concept motorcycle with a radical design. The RNT Concept is also a hybrid that primarily runs on diesel fuel, but can additionally be fitted with a hub electric motor on the front wheels, essentially turning it into a two wheel drive. The bike gets 6 speed transmission.
Furthermore, RNT Concept can even be equipped with a turbocharger and even a generator.
The bike is what Hero describes as a "high torque" motorcycle that's gets 13.5 bhp and a relatively massive 35 Nm of torque. And those LED headlamps you see in the image can be detached and used as a powerful torch.
