Hero Electric Launch Two New Models Of AVIOR e-cycles

Indian two-wheeler maker, Hero Electric, has launched two new e-cycles under the Avior range. The e-cycles are aimed at the corporate crowd, in metro cities.

Priced between INR 18,990 and 19,290 (ex-showroom Delhi), the e-cycles will be available in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. It will also be available online.

Naveen Munjal, the Managing Director for Hero Eco Group said, "This is primarily targeted at the young working class of the corporate houses, who love to reach their office from their nearby home in an eco-friendly way."

The e-cycle is equipped with 6 gears and can attain a top speed of 25 km/h. The bike is also equipped with lithium batteries, which can be charged in 6 hours.

Sohinder Gill, the CEO of Hero Electric's Global Business said, "We would also introduce Avior in the other markets as there is a good response from the dealers."

This eco-friendly cycle could work out to be a little more expensive in parts outside Delhi, because Delhi offers 15 per cent subsidy and zero VAT on e-cycles.

In Hero Electric's dealer network of 250 outlets, there are eco-friendly bikes available for males and females.

Munjal said that the company and its products are receiving a very good response in the Indian market and would soon expand, but gradually.

"We are waiting for the government to come out with its policy on e-vehicle. We are expanding but slowly. Once we get clarity over the policy, we would expand," said the Managing Director.
