Daimler Could Purchase MV Agusta Soon

Italian motorcycle manufacturer of exquisite two wheelers MV Agusta is currently owned by the Castiglioni family. They will be selling a part of their company stakes. MV Agusta is suffering certain financial issues and German four wheeler manufacturer Daimler is keen to purchase the 30 percent shares.

It will be good news for India if Daimler purchases part of the MV Agusta stakes. Daimler's parent company is Mercedes-Benz, who know the importance of the Indian market. Competitors like Ducati owned by Volkswagen Group is present significantly. British bike maker Triumph also has established a firm footing.

In international markets the Triumph daytona 675R and MV Agusta' F3 compete head on. The Italian manufacturer was into the niche market for a long time and the F3 was their first attempt at mass production of their designer bikes.

The MV Agusta brand is led by Giovanni Castiglioni, who has new ideas to revive the motorcycle brand. It was his idea to take the MV Agusta F3 to race events, where people can witness its performance. The Italian manufacturer competes in the World Super Stock event and has had several good outings in its maiden year.

Both MV Agusta and Daimler have not commented on the situation and want to keep their moves a bit low key. However, Giovanni Castiglioni, Chief Executive and President of MV Agusta was planning to get the Italian brand into the Milan stock market scene. It will be good news if Daimler could purchase the 30 percent of shares in MV Agusta.
