Bajaj Pulsar 200SS Caught Testing; Launch Soon
At the recent Auto Expo Show in Delhi, which was held in February 2014. Bajaj surprised everyone by showcasing their 400SS and 400CS models. These aren't 400cc bikes; however, they are 375cc engines.
Most of us expected the 200SS and 200CS to be launched or even showcased prior to the more powerful 375cc engines. We have now caught Bajaj testing their 200SS close to their plant.
The bike looks close to production and looks distinctively similar to the 400SS. The noticeable difference is that the 200SS looks smaller in size. Bajaj is expected to launch the smaller cubic capacity engine relatively soon.
The Bajaj 200SS could be launched within this month; however, there is no information on the same. The Indian motorcycle giant has not spoken a word about the 200SS, even at the Auto Expo.
The recent trend among manufacturers is to surprise the customers with their launches and this could be a great product from Bajaj to surprise all with. The down side is that Bajaj has been caught testing many bikes of late.
This means they have many products in offering and they could swerve the momentum anytime. They are currently testing a 150 & 180 NS, a 200SS, 200NS fuel injected and the highly anticipated 400SS & 400CS.
The engine in the 200SS is similar to that planted in 200NS. However, there could be an introduction of fuel injection to better performance along with fuel economy.
Bajaj looks set to take the competition to Yamaha and Honda, who have currently dominated the 150cc markets. Expect the 200SS to cost close to 1.20 lakhs to 1.30 lakhs, which could eat into the sales of Yamaha's YZF-R15 and Honda's CBR 150R.
