2014 MotoGP Sepang Qualifying Result
The MotoGP riders travel to Sepang, Malaysia and are pushing really hard to end the 2014 season on a high. This is the second last race of 2014 season with the last race scheduled to be held at Valencia on 9th of November, 2014.
Pol Espargaro of Yamaha Monster Tech3 team had a massive rash and fractured his left arm. He has been deemed fit to compete tomorrow, however, he did not take part in qualifying. The Spaniard will begin the race in 12th position.
Both Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez were pushing hard in the final practice before qualifying and went into the gravel. Andrea Iannone suffered from injuries from his accident at Phillip Island and will not take part in the Sepang Grand Prix.
As always though Repsol Honda riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa dominated the qualifying session. The youngest double-MotoGP champion Marquez achieved the fastest time ever around the Sepang track with Pedrosa close in second place.
Jorge Lorenzo was among the best Yamaha riders, as he secured third place for the race. Team mate Valentino Rossi struggled with setup and could only manage the sixth fastest time. Alexis Espargaro on his open class Yamaha was a second slower than Rossi and will begin in seventh position.
Ducati showed tremendous pace during the weekend, however, in qualifying they struggled a lot. Andrea Dovizioso was among the best Ducati riders securing fifth position on the grid. English team mate Cal Crutchlow was decent and managed the eighth fastest time.
Tomorrow's race is sure to be interesting as Rossi would like to increase his lead in the championship from Lorenzo and Pedrosa. The Sepang Grand Prix will begin at 13:30 tomorrow.
