Triumph 250cc Bike For India Being Developed?
Triumph Motorcycles' formal entry into India is near. Proof of fact is this entry level, presumably 250cc Triumph naked street bike styled like the Street Triple. The British bike manufacturer has been planning its entry into India for a long time now. Their bikes were even on display at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo.
Furthermore, Triumph even has a full fledged production & assembly plant in the works on the outskirts of Bangalore, Karnataka. While previously it was thought Triumph would introduce its existing lineup, it is now clear all new entry level bikes targeted towards developing Asian markets is/are in the works, as reported by RideApart.

The twin headlights, characteristic of the Street Triple would have you believe you are looking at the 675cc roadster, but look closely at the front tyres and the engine you'll realise this as a much smaller bike.
The engine on this bike, as you can notice, is a single cylinder unit, which is most likely a 250cc unit. It could also be a 300cc or larger motor, like in the Ninja 300, Duke 390 and the new Honda CBR250R, but it is less likely.
The engine is cradled in a simple steel tube frame, while the rear wheel is held by a box-section swingarm.
Other low cost replacement parts include the thin front forks and smaller tyres, which are similar to those found in other quarter liter bikes.
Other notable features include the single unit seats and grab rails for the pillion rider.
Entry level performance bikes is the segment where all the excitement is right now, especially in developing markets. The entry of KTM performance oriented bikes being offered at extremely competitive prices has set a path for others to follow, including Triumph, Honda and BMW.
The entry level Triumph motorcycle will be manufactured in Thailand and/or in India. Either way, we can expect pricing to be on par with its competitors. Hopefully, we'll get to see the new baby Triumph at the Auto Expo in Feb 2014.
