Mahindra To Launch New Scooter By Year End; New Model Every 3 Months
Mahindra Two Wheelers today revealed its plan to launch a brand new scooter before the end of 2013. The said scooter will be the start of an aggressive growth plan the company has chalked out which will become more evident in the coming months.
Speaking to the media during a press event Mr Anoop Mathur, President Two Wheeler Sector and Group Board member said the new automatic scooter would be a far cry from the existing Duro line of scooters in terms of design and styling, but the key differentiating factor would be features and technology it would have to offer, much like Centuro, the popular ‘premium' 110cc segment motorcycle.
Mahindra Two Wheelers is looking to build a brand identity much like its four wheeler models such as the Bolero, Scorpio or XUV500. The key to this would be unique design, styling and a feature rich package. The flagbearer for this growth strategy seems to be the Centuro which has proved to be an immense success.
Going forward Mahindra Two Wheelers will launch 10 new models in the next two and half years at the rate of a new model every three months. These will include motorcycles as well as scooters, encompassing various segments, ranging from 100cc to 300cc bikes (or even further) and feature heavy 100cc & 125cc automatic scooters.
