Hyosung At Auto Expo 2014; What to Expect

DSK Motowheels is the assembler for Hyosung bikes in India. The GT250 R LE signature edition was launched on December, 2013. Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman of DSK Motowheels unveiled the bike, and we managed to have a word with him about Hyosung's plans at the upcoming auto expo in 2014.

The GV 250 and X5 models will be showcased at the auto expo. Due to homologation issues, the GV 250 launch will be delayed. On the other hand, the X5 is a distant dream for Hyosung enthusiasts.

Although Hyosung manufactures electric bikes, DSK feels India is still too young for the concept. For long commutes, a hybrid makes more sense that a pure electric bike. Having said that, the electric bike variant is likely to be available in two years.

When quizzed on the statistics, growth and future plans of the Hyosung bikes. The chairman revealed that they have sold 1250 nos. of the GT250 in 2013 alone. He added, industry experts foresee a 27% increase in terms of growth of the Hyosung superbikes.

In terms of styling, Kulkarni stated he wants the GT250 R and the GV250 to maintain their own identities without resembling each other.

We can't wait to catch a glimpse of Hyosung's line up at the auto expo.
