Royal Enfield Patrol Bikes For Mumbai Cops

Mumbai Police could soon become the country's first law enforcement agency to ride high-tech patrolling motorcycles, with features that are found commonly in patrol bikes of other countries.

Gabriel Zuzarte, founder of Mumbai based Road Rage Custom Builds, is the man behind the high tech police bike. Zuzarte, inspired by patrol bikes used by FBI in the US, came up with his concept based on the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Classic.

The Royal Enfield patrol bike designed by Zuzarte will come with several gadgets that will prove helpful for law enforcement personnel on the move. These include all weather cameras on the front and rear to help with gathering evidence at all times, GPS, an all weather laptop, printer to issue tickets, basic forensic tools for emergency investigation, first aid kit and storage boxes to keep spare batteries, protective gears and other useful articles. The patrol bike will also sport emergency lights and could also be used as escort bikes for VIPs.

Zuzarte will reveal a concept model in August, after which the Mumbai police department will give it a try to determine the usefulness and practicality of the bike. If approved, the state government could fund production models.

Modern patrol bikes such as these could revolutionize policing in the city and hopefully, the country. We are sure police on duty road are keeping their fingers crossed for this bike to become reality.
