Harley Davidson Street 750 & Street 500 Are The Made-In-India Bikes

[Update: Harley Davidson Street 750 & Street 500 Revealed] Harley Davidson Street 750 and Harley Davidson Street 500. These are the very two bikes which have been spotted testing on Indian roads near Harley's facilities several times these past months. What's pleasantly surprising is that until now we were not sure there were going to be two bikes, but rather just the 500cc cruiser. The Street 750 is a welcome surprise.

The American two wheeler manufacturer will be revealing both the Street 750 and the Street 500 at the EICMA show tomorrow, November 5, in Milan, Italy. The names have been leaked ahead of the reveal thanks to an event invite posted by Italian site Motociclismo. Here is what to expect from tomorrow's reveal.

Both the Street 750 and the Street 500 will sport, not air cooled, but liquid cooled engines.

Both bikes will be built from the ground up in India. The bikes will be exported not just to neighbouring markets in Southeast Asia, but also to Europe.

The lowest displacement Harley currently builds, the Superlow is powered by an 883c engine that delivers 69 Nm of torque. Expect the new HD Street 750 & 500 to be high on torque as well. But not so much on power.

We think Harley Street 500 would have somewhere around 45-47 HP on tap to qualify to be sold in Europe to A2 license holders.

Harley Davidson Superlow is priced at INR 5.91 lakhs in India. According to a Forbes estimate the Street 500 will have a price tag of $7,000 or about INR 4 lakhs or less. The Street 750 could retail for not more than INR 5 lakhs.
Stay tuned for more details about new bike launches from EICMA 2013.
