Harley Davidson Project Rushmore Street Glide India Launch
Harley Davidson has launched 2014 Project Rushmore Street Glide, one of its most advanced cruiser bike in India. The cruiser, part of the Rushmore Project comes powered by a ‘High Output Twin Cam 103' engine. The bike will com to India via the import route and hence will be priced at INR 29 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Harley Davidson Project Rushmore is a global customer driven initiative aimed towards improving every aspect of touring motorcycles. Bikes that come under Project Rushmore feature some of the most high-tech features and latest in engine technology, delivering a touring experience that is unmatched by any other motorcycles. Those improvements slot into four customer-defined categories: Control, Infotainment, Feel and Style.
Control
Includes improved Dual Halogen lighting, Reflex Linked Brakes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), improved front suspension with stiffer 49mm forks and High Output Twin Cam 103 powertrains, all of which feature on the 2014 Street Glide.
Infotainment
Consists of new colour-screen Boom! Box infotainment systems (4.3 inch high-res display) with 5.25 inch speakers, Bluetooth & USB connectivity, voice recognition, text-to-speech technology, GPS navigation, including support for intercom and CB communications in a single module.
Feel
This aspect covers the new Batwing fairing with splitstream venting (improves aerodynamics and prevents rain water from splashing on the dash panel), refined passenger seating area, aerodynamics and ergonomics. These are aimed towards improving comfort.
Style
Improved form and the function of several components such as - the reshaped Tour-Pak and saddlebags with convenient One-Touch design elements, sleeker fenders, lighter cast aluminum wheels and intuitive hand control switches, the new Batwing Fairing, new Enforcer cast 10 spoke Impeller cast aluminum wheels. Rear wheels measure 16 inches; Restyled saddlebags with One Touch latch and 8% more storage; New Jukebox Compartment; One-Touch fuel door among others.
