Harley Davidson 250cc Cruiser For India Being Considered?
Harley Davidson Street 750 and Street 500, the ‘Dark Custom' cruiser bikes from the American motorcycle marquee were unveiled earlier this week at EICMA in Milan, Italy. These bikes have been developed specifically keeping in mind, the high volume Indian two wheeler market. As such, they will be manufactured in India as well, making the bikes easy to afford.
This development is a major one for Harley since the Street 750 and Street 500 are the smallest bikes offered by the company. Hardcore Harley followers look at launch of the smaller bikes as blasphemy. Now, according to a report on ET the company is looking into the development of much smaller, 250cc and 300cc bikes for India.

Citing sources the publication claims its an all new bike that will be built in India with extensive localization. The sourcing of components locally will extend to such an extent that almost everything apart from the engine and transmission will come from Indian suppliers.
"The product is currently under development without a price point," said one of the sources.
Can it be true? Some might consider Harley Davidson getting down to the business of building small 250cc bikes as straying away from its strong tradition to which the company has stuck in its more than a century of existence.
Harley Davidson seems to disagree with the rumor about 250cc cruisers, stating that it does not intend to build market specific motorcycles. "We don't have any in our portfolio today and we have no plans. The company is committed to developing exceptional products that fulfill the dreams of customers worldwide."
