Bajaj Discover 100 T Set To Go Global
Bajaj Auto is reportedly planning to export the recently launched Discover 100 T to several countries. Bajaj already has an export base where is sells its Pulsar and Discover line of motorcycles. Bajaj exports its motorcycles to South Africa, Latin America and Indonesia.
Bajaj Auto's General Manager (Sales) R Chandrashekar has stated that the new Discover 100 T will initially be sold only in India. However he has added that the company was looking at exporting the Discover 100 T in about four to five months.
The Bajaj Discover 100 T is based on the platform of the Discover 125 DT (Sports Tourer). However, there are several similarities between the two bikes. Apart from the different engine capacities, the Discover 100 T and 125 ST have different rear suspensions. The 100 T gets dual nitrox suspension while the 125 ST monoshock suspension.
The Bajaj Discover 100 T is said to be one of the most fuel efficient motorcycle in its segment. The Discover 100 T, according to an advertisement delivers a mileage of 87 kmpl. This mileage is possible thanks to the five-speed gearbox fitted to the 100cc engine. The Discover 100T is the first 100cc motorcycle to get a five speed gearbox.
Powered by a 100cc DTS-i engine that delivers 10.2PS, the 100 T is also the segment leader in terms of power. Such facts and figures will definitely make this bike an attractive one for buyers not only in India but in other countries too. Bajaj Auto will have to strike a balance between the local demand as well as its exports.
