The British manufacturer has sought allotment for 30 acres of land for their factory in India. Triumph Motorcycles has proposed an investment of Rs 850 crore in India. The manufacturing plant will be set-up in two phases. The first phase will have an initial production capacity of 250,000 Triumph Motorcycles per annum.
The company is believed to have signed a memorandum of association with the state government, with regards to the investment, land allocation. The company is proposing for an allotment of 30 acres land at Narasapura Industrial Area in Kolar district. The manufacturing plant is expected to be functional by 2015. One of the primary reason's for Triumph Motorcycles to select this area, is due to the accessibility of the Chennai port. Narasapura is quickly gaining importance and most two-wheeler manufacturers are looking at this location to set-up their manufacturing plants.
