The busy roads of Bangalore are a hard place top move for cyclists. This will not be the case in the Jayanagar from today as special cycle lanes have been inaugurated. The event marks significance as it has been done on World Car Free Day.
The idea of cycle lanes was started two years ago. The city corporation has marked certain roads in Jayanagar with 3 feet lanes for cycles in the past few months and the official inauguration was held by holding a cycle rally.
Here are some images of the cycle rally
The cycle rally was inaugurated by Karnataka Deputy chief minister R Ashok, with Jayanagar MLA B N Vijay Kumar joining the hundreds of cyclists. The cycle rally was also helpful in raising awareness about the new cycle lane.
The new Cycle lanes must now help cyclists have a safe journey without being worried of being hit by another vehicle. The police have stated that they will be enforcing the use of cycle lanes strictly for cycles.
