Iconic British two wheeler brand Triumph Motorcycles is all set to enter the Indian market. There have been rumours about Triumph's India plans since several days. Finally there has been an official confirmation for the same after Triumph Motorcycles appointed a management team to handle its affairs in India. Ashish Joshi has been appointed as Triumph's managing director.

Triumph will soon begin opening official dealerships and will be selling its motorcycles soon. Nick Bloor, the CEO of Triumph Motorcycles said: “India is a very important motorcycle market and Triumph has assessed it carefully before deciding to step in. We see it as the next step in our global business model. The appointment of Ashish Joshi is a signal of our seriousness about success in India. I wish him the best and look forward to comprehensive growth from the Indian market.

Triumph Motorcycles was founded in the year 1902. The company currently builds a variety of motorcycles and sells them across the globe. Triumph's model line-up includes The Rocket III, the Speed Triple, Bonneville, Tiger and the Daytona. Triumph can be expected to market itself as a competitor of the Harley Davidson range of bikes. Powered by large petrol engines Triumphs are considered as perfect cruisers - an image it shares with Harley Davidson.

Mr Ashish Joshi was previously working for Royal Enfield and has been credited with establishing the brand in Europe. By appointing Mr Joshi, Triumph has clearly indicated that it wants to understand the Indian motorcycle buyer. The motorcycle manufacturer has not revealed when it will officially launch its vehicles in India.

Manufacturers focus their attention towards young Indians esp students. Young's maturity level is not sufficient to have an accident free travel. Indiscipline, low education level and road conditions are also contributing for accidents. To protect the young, let us go for low powered 2 wheelers if required. Our needs are safe vehicles like single seater/2 seater cars. Any one look at the accidents , death, disabilities will agree with my view. Kindly discourage high powered 2 wheelers.
