In its statement to the media, Hero Honda described the launch of the global brand image as : “A significant first step towards the company's transformation into a major global brand, we would be unveiling our new brand name and identity in London, United Kingdom, on August 9, 2011."
Hero Honda has said it would unveil its new global brand image along with several new strategic initiatives. The company said these initiatives would allow it to further consolidate its leadership in India and also enter emerging markets globally.
Hero Honda is now trying to becoming a global two wheeler manufacturer. Its previous joint venture with Honda did not allow it to venture in markets where Honda was selling its bikes. After the Munjals, the owners of Hero Honda accepted to buy Honda's 26 per cent stake n the two wheeler company, Hero Honda became and independent company.
With a global brand image Hero Honda will be announcing a new name and design. By launching its global brand image in London, Hero Honda has clearly indicated its global ambitions.
