A latest 'Road Accident' report by the Union Road Transport Ministry shows that every third person involved in a fatal road accident is a youth.

In 2015, around 48,420 were killed in road accidents and they were between the age group of 15 to 24 years. When taken the age group between 15 to 34 years, the number of fatalities were more, 79,000.

The above mentioned figures amount to 54 percent of all recorded road fatalities, and of that percentage, 47 percent of road accidents were a result of driving above the speed limit (over speeding).

Globally, the concern is the same. A report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that road accident is the biggest killer when it comes to people between the age group of 15 to 29 years.

One way to avoid such accidents is to increase penalty for overspeeding, which is currently the case. Other steps that could be implemented is education about safety, the harmful effects of using a mobile phone while driving, and better filtration when a driver's licence is issued, among others.

When speaking about safety, Volvo is the brand that comes to one's mind, and the XC90 takes safety to the highest level, with numerous creature comforts. Take a look at the image gallery below.
