Volkswagen Employee Killed By Robot In German Facility
In today's time more and more companies are adopting machines that replace human beings. The automobile section has benefitted as robots do not tire and can work round the clock.
Everyone admits that not having a personal touch is good in certain aspects, while in others it is pointless. Having robots apply paint coat provides consistent results and less chance of any defects.
German manufacturers are known for their quality and safety that is offered with their vehicles. Companies like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have lots of automation involved.
Now an incident has taken place were an employee of Volkswagen was setting up a robot in Germany. The robot somehow got activated and trapped the mechanic between a metal plate.
Worker that was involved in this incident lost his life, however, his partner helping him survived. This incident is being reported as a human error and faulty programming of the robot.
Volkswagen has promised to look further into this matter and will shedding more information soon. They have confirmed it was the previous gen robot involved in this incident, it was not their new light robot that work alongside humans.
