Valentino Rossi’s AGV Pista GP R Winter Test Helmet — A Closer Look
Valentino Rossi showcased his latest helmet, the AGV Pista GP R, and here’s what the helmet features and is made of.
The 2017 MotoGP season is to start soon, and before every season, something fans eagerly await is to look out for riders changing teams (if any) and of course, Valentino Rossi's helmet.
This year, the nine-time world champion has chosen to go with a 'winter theme' for his AGV Pista GP R helmet. Rossi used the new helmet for his first test that took place in Sepang.
The AGV Pista helmet features cool graphics, and this particular one is supposed to be a snow globe, that pays homage to Rossi's hometown, Tavullia. The helmet portrays a miniature landscape of Tavullia covered in snow, enclosed in a glass sphere.
On the top left of the visor, the helmet features a trac sign of his town of birth, which is 46km/h. On the front, the helmet showcases the Fan Club's banner. The chin area sports the unmistakable number 46.
Speaking of the helmet's construction, the AGV Pista GP R is made of carbon and is one of the most protective helmets ever built. The helmet offers increased field of vision through Race 3 Max Pinlock, a Class 1 Optic visor with 100 percent Max Vision Pinlock (120) and has a new-patented Visor Lock System (VLS).
Also, the aerodynamic performance has been improved with wind-tunnel-tested Biplano rear spoiler, and features better comfort owing to a new interior structure and Integrated Ventilation System (IVS).
The AGV Pista GP R is the first helmet to have a hydration system through internal channels and a valve to drink water in the chin area of the helmet.
The Pista GP R is a nice helmet indeed and is available to buy off the shelf. How about the new Yamaha R6 to go with it? Here are the images below.
