Toyota GT86 Sets New World Record For Longest Drift
The Toyota GT86 is a truly amazing car. It's glorious back-to-basics design with its front-engined, rear-drive setup for very sensible money has won it from fans and critics alike around the globe.
One of the best driver's cars there is today has just added another feather in its cap. It now holds the record for the world's longest drift with German driver Harald "Harry" Muller behind the wheel.

Muller drifted the standard 200-horsepower-GT86 for an amazing 89.55 miles around a wet circuit in Samsun, Turkey. The feat took the German two hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to complete, and shattered the previous record set by Johan Schwartz last year in a much more powerful BMW M5. Muller earned himself the record in only his second attempt.
This is now the second drift record for the remarkable Toyota, the first one being the fastest drift in the world, when Polish driver Jakub 'Kuba' Przygonski kept the car sideways at 135.44 mph (218 km/h) in an airstrip in Warsaw.
Check out the video below for some of the record-breaking sideways action:
