Automobile manufacturers have always tried to defy the law of physics by engineering cars that can go fast. Over the years, engineering these machines have brought us fast cars in many shapes and sizes, with speed in mind.

Now, since more and more fast cars are available to the public, albeit usually with a huge price tag, where can one drive these machines how they were meant to be driven? Are there places where these cars can be pushed to the limit?

Well, the Bonneville Salt Flats comes to everybody's mind instantly. Correct to an extent, but here we bring you public roads that can stretch the legs of all those horses in your super car.

10. Slovakia:

The highways have a speed limit of 35 mph. Wondering how it makes to this list? Well, these are just posted signs. People do well above 80 mph. The local radio stations how ever keep giving updates about where the cops are stationed so drivers can slow down well before they run into a speed trap.

9. UAE:

With a speed limit of 75 mph, people are known to not get ticketed even at speeds of up to 87 mph. This lavish place among the desert offers very good roads. One thing to look out for - if you own a Bugatti Veyron, well, the cops have one as well.

8. Australia:

The Australian outback has very good roads. With a speed limit of 81 mph brought in recently, these deserted roads are too difficult to be monitored. Ideal roads to drive fast as long as the kangaroos don't get in your way.

7. Arizona:

The 39-mile stretch of straight, smooth mostly open road of Route 79 is a great place to achieve very good speeds. 90-plus mph is easy although the speed limit is restricted to 88 mph.

6. New Zealand:

This country has one of the roads where speed records are attempted. The very appealing Goudies Road is very well paved and holds the memories of Owen Evans, who crashed attempting a speed record on this road in 1996 at over 216 mph. He miraculously survived.

5. Italy:

The A1, which connects Milan and Rome, is restricted to 93 mph, though it's not enforced at all. In the land of Ferrari and Lamborghini, this seems to be a good idea.

4. Nürburgring:

All one needs is a ticket to test the limits of your car in this historical place when it's open to the public. This German race track attracts hundreds of people just to do a lap.

3. Isle Of Man:

This place has no speed limits, and the town is home to locals who love speed. The beautiful windy island is where the the most demanding motorcycle race is held annually, the Isle of Man TT. It's twisty roads are an experience out of this world.

2. Poland:

The Autostrada in Poland is legally the fastest highway with speeds restricted to 87 mph.

1. Germany:

The famous Autobahn. The legal speed limit is 81 mph, but there is nothing to stop a driver from doing higher speeds. People from around the world come here to feel the adrenaline rush of driving a car at its top speed. A Mercedes-Benz W125 holds the record for the fastest speed ever on this road, 268.8 mph, a record set in 1968.

Noteworthy mention: Bonneville Salt Flats:

This list would not be complete without mention of the world famous Bonneville Salt Flats. Located in Utah, this massive dry salt flat is the remains of the Bonneville lake. Here the only rule of speed is go as fast as you can. Although land speed records are set here, we are excluding the salt flats because this is not technically a stretch of road.
