Porsche, the German automobile supercar manufacturer has given the world cars that could be considered masterpieces.

The company was started in the year 1931, in Stuttgart, Germany. The company is now owned by the Volkswagen group.

The company is also a very well known brand in the motorsports world, from the early days.

Porsche makes supercars, hypercars, luxury cars and SUVs—let's take a closer look at the brand.

The first ever car built by Porsche was the ‘64', which was built in the year 1939, primarily using parts from the VW Beetle. The flat-four engine pumped out 50 bhp. That was quite a start in those days.

The 550 Spyder was a sports car that was manufactured in the 50s. The car had an air-cooled, 4-cylinder engine that produced 110 PS. What made this car so special was that the car was so low, that it enabled racer, Hans Herrmann and his co-driver to drive under closed level crossing gates during the Mille Miglia in 1954.

The famous actor, James Dean, met his end in a Porsche 550 Spyder, nicknamed "Little Bastard".

The Porsche 917/30 was designed to keep up with the F1-based engine designs of the competition during 1972-73. The car was turbocharged and produced 1,100 bhp and could reach 100 km/h in less than two seconds! The car had a top speed of 257 mph.

This car was later re-designed to produce 1,580 horsepower with a new 5.4-litre engine, that brought victory to Porsche in 1973.

The Porsche 928 was the company's only model with a front mounted V8 engine and the company's first mass produced V8 engine. The car also featured factory-fitted front and rear flip-down sun visors.

The Porsche 935, which was introduced in the 70s, appeared in the famous cartoon- The Transformers as Jazz, Optimus Prime's right-hand robot, along with the Martini Racing colours for a long time.

The Porsche 956 was built in 1982. This 635 hp, 800 kg car holds the all-time record for the fastest vehicle ever to lap the Nürburgring. The car did the 20.81 km circuit in 6:11.13.

The company's logo is based on a combination of two coats of arms. The main shield is from the former Free People's State of Wurttemberg and the central part is from Stuttgart's coat of arms.

That was exactly what the "Men's Car" magazine had published. Almost 50 percent of Porsche owners cheated their parents and admitted infidelity. The survey was carried out by Hamburg-based opinion poll institute Gewis, which questioned 2,253 male and female drivers aged 20 to 50. Apparently the most faithful were Opel-Vauxhall owners! Jeez!
