Terra Wind: The Ultimate Coach For The Road Or On Water
Amphibious vehicles were a futuristic vision some time ago. Thanks to companies such as Gibbs, Rinspeed, and many such manufacturers, small amphibious vehicles affordable by normal civilians are becoming common.
Now, a company called Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International (CAMI) has come up with a luxury coach that is as comfortable in water as it is on land. Let's take a closer look.
CAMI's amphibious coach or the bus is called Terra Wind. The motor coach does a comfortable 80mph (129km/h) on land and up to 7 knots (13km/h) on water.
Powering the Terra wind on land is a diesel engine that generates 330bhp and in water, it uses two rudders and propellers. The Terra Wind has two inflatable pontoons to keep the huge coach stable, but can travel on water without them.
The very impressive outer design is carried out on the inside as well. The inside of the motor coach is finished with a variety of material as per the choice of customers.
Customers have the option to chose from a variety of floor plans, entertainment systems, electronics, cabinetry, floor coverings, furniture, paint, and graphics. It can also be tailored to suit individual needs.
The cockpit too can be finished in leather, and takes inspiration from an aircraft, which features gauges and system controls.
On board systems include a computer docking system with internet access, GPS, moving maps, and navigational charts, which all come as standard.
So wondering how much would one cost? Well it depends on what options you are looking for. The one pictured costs approximately USD 1.2 million.
