Steve McQueen’s 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera To Be Auctioned
Steve McQueen's 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is to be auctioned this August at the Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey.
McQueen's son, Chad, has a strong belief that the car will fetch a good price, and part of the money from the auction will be donated to McQueen's alma mater, the reform school Boys Republic.
The Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera was the last car ordered by McQueen before his death in 1980, which makes this car really special, especially in the hands of collectors.
The Porsche bears chassis number 9306800408 and engine number 6860413. The engine is a 243 horsepower, non-intercooled, 3.0-litre power plant.
The car comes equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, sunroof, dual mirrors, limited-slip differential and black sport seats. But what really matters is not the engine, horsepower or the sports seats. It was the owner—Steve McQueen!
