Roborace has released a new video of its race car, the Roborace, driving by itself around a race track.

In August 2016, Roborace revealed its first self-driving race car prototype, the DevBot. After almost a year, it looks like the company has done enough work and finally the car can drive itself around a race track.

Roborace has released a video of the self-driving race car. The camera is placed in the cockpit, and we can see the car drive itself around the race track.

Roborace DevBot Driving Around Berlin Street Circuit

The DevBot lapped around the Berlin Street Circuit earlier this month. In the video, we can see the car accelerating, braking steering on its own without the intervention of a human.

The self-driving race can easily go around a race track. But the autonomous software misses almost all the corner apex, and it lifts the throttle way too early when entering a corner.

DriveSpark Thinks!

The autonomous race car is a reality now, but the real challenge is the competitiveness of the cars. The Roborace electric cars have to be polished to be aggressive on the race track as its human counterparts.
